SECUGEN S.L, leading company in neurological diagnostics, is announcing a new genetic testing service for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and FTD (Fronto Temporal Dementia).
The test for the quantification of GGGGCC hexanucleotide repeats, located in the untranslated region of the c9orf72 gene, is now available for the diagnosis of ALS and FTD.
It has been described that in patients with ELA, the expansion was presented in 39% of familial cases and in 7% of the sporadic ones. In the case of DFT, 24% of the cases were familial and 6% were sporadics.
